The evolution of 3D printing moves from industrial, $1 million-plus machines to today’s consumer friendly, sub $2,000 models, thanks to sites like Kickstarter. I don’t know if everyone will have a 3D printer in their homes some day that will quickly print out a new toothbrush on demand, but in the very near future, prices are dropping and accessibility is growing. Maybe I’ll even own one next year? Kickstarter has become the go-to launchpad for these geeky devices. In my roundup, I mention 10 printers that launched on Kickstarter and where are they now.
